The Ultimate Hot Dog Topping

INGREDIENTS
4 cups water
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (28 ounces) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Hot dogs, heated
Hot dog buns, split
DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Carefully crumble beef into water.
Add onion. Boil until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Add the tomato sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until heated through.
Serve over hot dogs in buns.
Tips
Try using different type of buns for different flavors. Some bun ideas include: Hawaiian buns, Pretzel buns, Poppy seed buns, or Potato buns.
